A Chermside man says he’ll finally be making one of his long-held dreams a reality after suddenly waking up a millionaire thanks to last night’s Monday Gold Lotto draw.
The Brisbane resident held the only division one winning entry across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4008, drawn Monday 14 September 2020, and takes home a division one prize of $1 million.
Confirming his win with an official from the Lott this morning, the stunned man explained he’d had a sleepless night.
“Thank you,” he said.
“It has only just hit me!
“Wow. Just wow!
“My wife and I saw we had won at about nine o’clock last night and we didn’t get much sleep after that.
“I have been playing those exact numbers for about 20 years. I can’t believe they’ve finally come up.
“It’s incredible. Honestly, I never thought this would happen, you hope, and you pray, but you never think you will actually win the lottery!”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his million-dollar fortune, the Brisbane player said he will finally make one of his dreams come true.
“It has been a bit tough year for us, just like it has been for a lot of people,” he explained.
“We will invest the prize for our future retirement.
“I have always wanted to go to the Easter Islands. It’s been a dream of mine for some time, so hopefully when we’re allowed to travel again I can make that happen.
“It will be amazing!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning marked entry at NewsExtra Chermside, Shop K21A Westfield Chermside, Gympie Road, Chermside.

The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4008 on Monday 14 September 2020 were 31, 16, 23, 43, 1 and 24 while the supplementary numbers were 18 and 36.
Across Australia, there was one division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Gold Lotto draw 4008 – the entry from Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 281 so far this year, including 76 won by Golden Casket customers.
