A Chirnside Park woman couldn’t contain her excitement when she answered the phone to the news she was $200,000 richer thanks to her entry in the latest Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot.
The happy winner won the guaranteed 1st Prize in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1122, drawn Monday 27 August 2018.
When a Tatts official called to confirm her win, the winner couldn’t hide her surprise and revealed the news had come completely out of the blue.
“Oh wow! Terrific! That is great!” the woman cackled with glee.
“I only check my tickets once a week when I do my shopping so I had no idea why you would be calling!
“I had no idea whatsoever this would happen as I was just going about my day and driving home.”
When asked how she planned to spend her Lucky Lotteries windfall, the Chirnside Park resident revealed she first had to break the news to her husband.
“I’m not really sure! But I want to surprise my husband!” she exclaimed.
“I can’t wait to get home and tell him all about! Then we’ll work out how we will celebrate!”
The thrilled woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her two consecutive number entry from Chirnside Lotto Agency, Shop 643, Chirnside Park Shopping Centre, Maroondah Highway, Chirnside Park.
Chirnside Lotto Agency owner Martin Baillache said he was thrilled to have sold the first Lucky Lotteries top prize since taking ownership of the outlet.
“It’s the first major prize we’ve sold since we’ve been here!” he exclaimed.
“We’ve had a few large wins over the years but never a big one so we are thrilled for our winner.
“We are so pleased it is a local and hope another one of our customers have another win again soon!”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize has now jackpotted to $18.28 million for the next draw 1123, and the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize continues to climb offering $1.67 million in the next draw 10244.
