A Nowra grandmother who was told by a clairvoyant decades ago that she’d one day win the lottery today declared that day had finally come.
The New South Wales woman won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1283, drawn Thursday 18 April 2019.
Confirming her win with a NSW Lotteries official today, almost two weeks after the draw, the woman revealed she had no idea she’d been holding onto a ticket worth $200,000.
“Wow! That’s awesome!” she cried with joy.
“That’s so cool!
“I thought maybe I’d won $10,000 or something, but this is just incredible!
“I went to two newsagencies and they both told me the prize was too big to be paid out but I had no idea it would be this big!
“About 20 years ago, a clairvoyant told me that one day I would win the lottery but I won’t catch a fish if I don’t go fishing! That’s when I started buying lottery tickets.
“I can’t believe it’s happened all these years later.
“I feel so emotional. Thank you so much!”
The loving grandmother revealed the prize had come at the perfect time and she’d use it to spoil her family.
“It’s been a tough few years,” she said.
“I’m so happy and I can’t wait to tell my family!
“I will be sharing it with my beautiful children.
“I’ll also pay some bills and take my family on a holiday.”
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry of one random number at Sturgiss Newsagency, 110-112 Junction Street, Nowra.
It’s been a winning fortnight for Sturgiss Newsagency. The outlet also sold a division one winning entry in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3864, drawn Monday 29 April 2019.
The one million dollar winning entry was claimed by a local tradie.
Sturgiss Newsagency employee Keira-Lee Beattie said she was relieved to know the prize had been united with the winner.
“It’s so great to hear this woman has finally realised she’s won and has claimed her prize!” she exclaimed.
“We wish her nothing but the best and hope this really brightens up the rest of her life!”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $59.80 million for draw 1296 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $630,000 for draw 10286.
