A Cleveland dad says he got the surprise of his life when he checked his Saturday Gold Lotto ticket yesterday and discovered he was suddenly a millionaire.
The Redland City retiree held one of the six division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4191, drawn Saturday 18 September 2021. Each division one winning entry took home $1,048,320.62.
Confirming his win with an official from The Lott this morning, the winner explained he made the life-changing discovery on Sunday morning.
“Thank you very much,” he said.
“I am feeling pretty good, actually.
“I have got to say I got a bit of a shock yesterday when I checked my ticket.
“Something in the back of my mind was telling me to get online and check my entry. That’s when I got the surprise of my life.
“I got the ticket on Saturday night, quite last minute, and the rest is history!
“It was an amazing feeling when I saw that prize on my screen.”
With more than $1 million about to hit his bank account, the Queenslander had no doubt he’d be able to enjoy his prize with his wife throughout their retirement.
“It is certainly going to come in handy,” he declared.
“We’re both retired and we will be able to really enjoy it throughout our retirement.
“We will probably look at upgrading the house and helping our children out as well.”
His life-changing 24-game QuickPick entry was purchased online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4191 on 18 September 2021 were 5, 36, 6, 15, 43, and 18, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 29.
Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4191 – two from New South Wales and Victoria, and one each from Queensland and South Australia.
