After more than 60 years on the job, a Mackay woman is finally calling it quits after scoring $3.1 million in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Queensland resident held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4685 on Saturday 13 June 2026. Each division one winning entry pocketed $3,127,800.49.
When an official from The Lott broke the life-changing news this morning, the unsuspecting winner was left completely gobsmacked.
“Are you serious? Oh my god. I’m shaking. I’m just at work,” she cried.
“You are joking! Do you know how long I’ve wanted to retire? I’m in my 70s and I’ve been working since I was young.
“I’ve been visualising myself winning for years and years. I was even doing my groceries over the weekend, and I saw a poster for Saturday Gold Lotto, and I thought, ‘Wouldn’t that be nice?’.”
Alongside retirement, the newfound multi-millionaire planned to pack her bags for a well-deserved holiday, revealing she hadn’t had one in over a decade.
“I can also go on a holiday. You know I haven’t been on a holiday for over 10 years,” she laughed.
“This means so much to me. I always read the winner stories on the website, and I just think, ‘Isn’t that amazing?’. Now I’ll see my own story.
“I can’t believe I can retire. What wonderful news. Thank you so much.”
Her winning 50-game QuickPick entry was purchased on The Lott website – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4685 on 13 June 2026 were 16, 31, 43, 12, 40 and 30, while the supplementary numbers were 25 and 26.
