A Corrywong woman’s family history has repeated itself after she scored an unbelievable Instant Scratch-Its prize of $25,000, exceeding her father’s legendary win of $100 from the 80s.

The top prize winning $2 Christmas Paws Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Corryong Newsagency, 43-45 Hansen Street, Corryong.

Confirming her instant win with an official from The Lott, the winning Victorian woman was still reeling from excitement.

“It feels so surreal!” she exclaimed.

“On Christmas our family were each gifted Instant Scratch-Its tickets in a tinsel Christmas tree.

“We scratched our tickets from our tree on Christmas day, and we were left in complete disbelief.

“We double and triple checked the win to see if it was true. We even looked up the odds of winning a top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket!

“We sat on the win for a couple of weeks, and we didn’t visit the local newsagency to confirm the win until a few weeks later to make sure there weren’t many customers around.

“Once we had confirmed the winning news at the local newsagency, we gathered the family around and celebrated together.

“Funny story, my dad actually scratched an Instant Scratch-Its ticket in 1988 and he won $100. We thought that he had won the lottery, but this is next level!

“I had a mini heart attack when I was filling out the paperwork and relaying how much we had won.

“I still can’t get over it. It’s very unreal!”

With $25,000 about to boost their bank account, the winner revealed it would go towards a family getaway.

“We will put the win back into the family and book a trip to the coast,” she said.

“We will look to send my family to New Zealand as well!”

Corryong Newsagency owner Adrian Grzeschka said his team are over the moon to have sold a top prize winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket to a local customer.

“This is the first top prize we’ve sold on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket and we couldn’t be happier for our outlet, the winner and our small community,” he said.

“We hope this is the start to a winning streak and we can sell a division one winning entry in TattsLotto or any other lottery games!

“Congratulations the local family and we wish them all the best with their prize.”
