A Cranbourne woman has had to hide the Instant Scratch-Its ticket holding a tasty $100,000 prize from her teething puppy in case he mistook it for a toy.

The top prize winning $5 Arabian Fortune ticket was purchased at Karingal Lotto, News and Gifts, Shop S042, Karingal Hub, 330 Cranbourne Road, Frankston.

Sharing her joy with an official from The Lott this morning, the merry Melburnian explained how the instant win came to be.

“It’s such a lovely surprise. I’m in shock,” she cheered.

“The new design caught my eye, so I decided to buy three of the same Instant Scratch-Its tickets.

“I took them home and scratched them while I was watching television. I wasn’t really concentrating, so I didn’t realise I’d won a top prize until I went to the newsagency to check them!

“The team member at the newsagency said to me, ‘You’ll have to go to the head office to claim this top prize!’.

“I had no idea – I thought it was a small win!

“I had a doubletake with the ticket. I couldn’t believe it.

“I took home the winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket and put it on a high piece of furniture to hide it away from my puppy, who is still teething and chews on everything!

“The last thing I would’ve wanted is for him to chew up a winning ticket worth $100,000!”

With $100,000 about to land into her bank account, the victorious Victorian said she couldn’t wait to park a new car in her garage.

“As much as I’d love to treat my puppy, I think he’s got enough treats and toys. I think it’s time to upgrade my car with a new one. It’s been a long time coming!” she shared.

“I’d also love to invest some of the prize and look after my future.

“This is wonderful.”

The Karingal Lotto, News and Gifts team are overjoyed to have sold a winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket to a loyal customer and wish her all the best with the prize.
