The phone lines between a group of old friends spread across the country are running red hot this morning after their decade-long private syndicate scored division one in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.
The merry gang of eight held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3973, drawn Saturday 17 August 2019. Each entry takes home a division one prize of $989,632.50.
Sharing his excitement with a Tatts official this morning, the syndicate leader couldn’t contain his joy at the thought of breaking the news to his friends.
“Wow! Wow! Wow! That’s fantastic! This is a very good phone call!” he exclaimed happily.
“This is a syndicate we’ve been running between a group of old friends for years and years and years.
“You’ve completely made my day. I can’t wait to phone my friends and tell them! They will be happy!
“As soon as I get off the phone to you I’m going to go and yell my head off I’m so excited!”
The overjoyed winner revealed the syndicate of eight friends had been running for over a decade.
“Over 10 years ago we started the syndicate by all choosing a number and we’ve been playing that System entry ever since,” he explained.
“I’ve been telling them for years we’ll win it one day! “I’ll use my share to pay off some bills and I’m sure my wife will want to spend some of it too!
“This has just made my day!”
The syndicate leader, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased the syndicate’s marked System 7 entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
