One Newcastle Set for Life player can look forward to receiving $20,000 every month for the next 20 years  after scoring division one on the weekend – but first they need to check their ticket!

The mystery winner held the only division one winning entry nationally in Set for Life draw 2256, drawn Saturday 9 October 2021. They take home the prize of $4.8 million, paid in instalments of $20,000 a month for 20 years.

The winning entry was purchased at Nina's IGA Hamilton, 73 Beaumont Street, Hamilton.

Nina's IGA Hamilton manager Eleni Kiriakidis said she congratulates the mystery winner on becoming Set for Life.

“I was so excited when I found out we’d sold a division one winning ticket,” she said.

“This is the first division one winning entry we have sold. We are thrilled!

“We’ve had so many people coming in to congratulate us on this milestone.

“Hopefully, the winner discovers the news soon. No doubt they will be very excited.

“We hope they come in to check their ticket here, as we would love to send them a huge congratulations.

“We can’t wait to make many other people Set for Life, but first, we need to find this winner so they can enjoy life with their lottery win.”

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said she was eagerly waiting for the mystery winner to come forward and claim their prize.

“We’re urging all players who purchased a Set for Life ticket from Nina's IGA Hamilton to check their tickets today,” she said.

“It’s likely this winner has been going about their week as normal with no idea they’ve just won a life-changing lottery prize.

“Make sure you check your ticket, which could be in your wallet, handbag, fridge door or car glovebox, because the winner could be you and you could be planning what to do with your prize too!

“If you discover you are holding the winning ticket, contact The Lott on 131 868 to begin the process of claiming your prize.”

So far in 2021 there have been 13 division one lottery wins in the Hunter and Central Coast region collectively worth more than $19.4 million.

The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 2256 on Saturday 9 October 2021 were 44, 32, 6, 36, 39, 2 and 10, while the supplementary numbers were 20 and 14.

Across Australia, there was one division one winning entry in Set for Life draw 2256 – one from New South Wales.

This marks the 83rd Set for Life division one winner nationally since the game began and the 13th Set for Life division one winner so far this calendar year.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 354 so far this calendar year, including 105 won by NSW Lotteries customers.

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, there were 16 Set for Life division one winners across Australia who will receive $76.8 million during the next 20 years.

By the end of FY21, $53.8 million in monthly payments of $20,000 had been paid to the 79 Set for Life division one winners across Australia since 2015.
