If you ever thought your suburb, town or region was a winning location, you might just be right with new data shining a spotlight on where the most division one lottery prizes landed this year.

According to data crunched by The Lott, in the 11 months ending 30 November 2025, there were 479 division one winning entries from all lottery games across Australia that delivered more than $1.5 billion in division one prize money.

While Victoria had the most division one wins with 142, players in New South Wales enjoyed the most division one prize money, totalling $468.3 million, thanks to big jackpot wins.

The biggest individual prize won during the year was $100 million – this was won on two occasions in New South Wales (one each in Oz Lotto and Powerball).

More millionaires were made in New South Wales during the 11 months (76), closely followed by Victoria (75) and Queensland (69).

The data also revealed the suburbs in each state and territory that were home to the outlets that sold the most division one winning entries.

“In the first 11 months of 2025, more than 470 Aussies across the country experienced the indescribable thrill of a division one lottery win,” The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said.

“While lotteries are games of chance where wins can land anywhere at any time, we did see some pockets across the country welcome more prizes than others.

“But it wasn’t just the big capital cities that saw the big wins in 2025, with many regional and remote areas also basking in the good fortune.

“Some players tell us they deliberately pick lottery outlets that have recently sold a major lottery prize in the hope of continuing the winning streak, while other players choose different outlets, believing lightning won’t strike twice.

“Regardless, as many lottery winners tell us, you’ve got to be in it for the chance to win it!”
