A Port Macquarie man has confessed he was as ‘happy as Larry’ after he initially thought he’d won $100 in a recent Lucky Lotteries draw, only to discover the prize was actually worth $100,000.
The Mid North Coast resident held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11061, drawn Friday 20 February 2026. He looks forward to a neat $100,000.
While the man had registered his winning entry to The Lott Members Club, his contact details weren’t up to date meaning officials had to wait for him to check his ticket and come forward.
“Fantastic news!” he said when speaking with an official from The Lott days after his win.
“I’ve been off sick from work today and you’ve just made me cheer up.
“When I first checked the ticket, I thought I’d won $100, and I was as happy as Larry. Then, I looked a bit closer and realised there were some extra zeros.
“I couldn’t believe it. I thought someone might be pulling my leg.
“I’m still struggling to believe half of this.”
The stunned winner shared the six-figure prize would allow him to help family in ways he never imagined possible.
“This win is going to help my family out quite well,” he said.
“I have a daughter who needs some surgery and I’ll be able to help her with the cost now.
“I’ll have to invite everyone over to celebrate once I’m feeling better.”
His winning entry of five random numbers was purchased at Blairs Newsagency, 88 Horton Street, Port Macquarie.
Blairs Newsagency owner Peter Thompsett shared he was over the moon to sell a 1st Prize winning entry worth $100,000.
“We were so excited to hear that our outlet had sold a 1st Prize winning entry,” he said.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to know that our small town has experienced a life-changing prize and that someone’s life has been changed for the better.
“We will be celebrating with lots of balloons, signage and spread the word with everyone.
“Over the past eight years, we’ve been fortunate enough to sell three 1st Prize winning entries.
“Congratulations to our winner! Enjoy and spend wisely!”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $25.60 million for draw 1772, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $1.15 million for draw 11062.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.
