An Earlwood dad admitted he needed ‘to sit down’ from the shock of today discovering he is $958,001.14 richer from winning division one in last weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.

The happy man held one of the four division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 3931, drawn Saturday 23 March 2019. Each entry took home a division one prize of $958,001.14.

As well as winning division one, the Sydney man also won division four once and division six 3 times, boosting his total prize to $958,069.44

When a NSW Lotteries official broke the news to the man six days after the draw, there was a moment of stunned silence as he began to comprehend the news of his win.

“Wait? What? I’ve won that? You’re kidding me?” he questioned.

“Oh, oh god! Wow, wow!

“I can’t walk! I can’t even stand now! I need to sit down!

“God this is unbelievable! I had absolutely no idea.

“This is amazing. This is beautiful!

“I never thought I would win division one! This is a huge shock for me.

“I only play Saturday Lotto every now and again! I’m not much of a lottery player, so I definitely didn’t think I’d ever win division one!

“You have no idea how much this will help my family.

“This has come at a brilliant time. It is life changing for us.

“I can’t wait to tell my wife. She’s going to cry when I tell her.

“We are not going to sleep tonight! I just can’t believe this.”

When asked how he planned to spend his prize, the Sydney man admitted it would allow him to finally fulfil the Australian dream of owning a home.

“I am going to buy a house. This has been my dream for so long. This means I can fulfil it. I don’t care what type of house. I just want a house for my beautiful wife and baby,” he said.

“I want to take my wife to Asia! God, I’d be happy to leave as soon as we can! She deserves a holiday!

“I’m definitely going to have a barbeque and a bit of a celebration this weekend.”

The winning entry was purchased at Fire Station Newsagency, 179 Darlinghurst Road, Darlinghurst.

Fire Station Newsagency manager Mohammed Zubair said he was thrilled the winner had come forward to claim his division one prize.

“We are very happy to have sold a division one winning ticket to one of our customers,” he said.

“It is so exciting. We’ve been telling all our customers and they’re all very happy for us.

“This store is considered lucky now! We hope to deliver another win to one of our customers soon.

“We are happy for the customer and we hope he enjoys his prize. It’s definitely a life changing prize.”
