A generous Kallangur grandfather has confessed he wants for nothing but a box of beer and plans to gift most of his $250,000 Instant Scratch-Its win to his nearest and dearest
The Moreton Bay resident’s winning $10 Lucky Gems Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at News Extra Lillybrook, Shop 20, Lilly Brook Shopping Centre, 118 Old Gympie Road.
“It’s not bad!” he laughed when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“I’ve already planned to give most of it to my children. They’ve got families and houses and that.
“I told them yesterday, and they were pretty excited.
“I’ve been pretty calm myself. I actually scratched the ticket a week ago but had been sitting on it.
“When I took it to the newsagency, he said ‘You’ve got a winner!’. Even then, I was quite relaxed.
“I’ve been playing Instant Scratch-Its tickets since they first started. It’s been a long time!”
When asked if there was anything he’d like to buy for himself, the happy winner shared he had one small idea in mind.
“Honestly, just a box of beers to celebrate will do me,” he said.
“It’s family that’s most important to me.”
