A Figtree woman cleaned up more than just her breakfast plate on Christmas morning after discovering she’d won $25,000 on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
The top prize-winning $2 Christmas Paws Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Shellharbour Square Newsagency, 211 Lakes Entrance Road, Shop 35 Shellharbour Square, Shellharbour.
“It’s so unexcepted! I’m shocked,” the winning woman cheered when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“It’s a funny story! My mum always puts Instant Scratch-Its tickets on our plates for Christmas.
“Who would’ve thought a Christmas Instant Scratch-Its ticket could deliver such an amazing surprise?
“We were sitting down for breakfast and I scratched my ticket.
“I saw the amount and that the picture matched but it still didn’t sink in.
“We even passed the ticket around, getting everyone to have a look!
“We all got excited and thought to ourselves, ‘looks like we’ve won.’
“We excitedly took it to an outlet to check the ticket and the people behind the counter told us that we had won an amount over $1,000 dollars.
“At that point even, if it had been $1,000 I would’ve been so excited because I never win anything!
“I’m still in shock and can’t believe it.
“I’m not sure what I’ll do but I think we might look into a holiday and buying my nearest and dearest some stuff they need.
Shellharbour Square Newsagency owner Palak Shah said he was over-the-moon to have sold another top prize-winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket at his outlet.
“We’re off to a great start this year with two major lottery prizes under our belt already!” he said.
“Congratulations to our winner, we’re always happy when those who support our outlet have a win.
“We’d like to wish our winner a warm congratulations and all the best for the future.”
In FY22, there were 139 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $14.51 million in top prizes.
