First class flights and spoiling the grandkids are front of mind for a Batemans Bay man after he scored over $1 million in last nights Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.

The South Coast man held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3870, drawn Monday 20 May 2019. Each entry takes home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.

As well as winning the coveted division one prize, the thrilled winner’s System 8 QuickPick entry also won division three 12 times and division four 15 times, bolstering his total prize to $1,004,929.75.

Sharing his excitement with a NSW Lotteries official this morning when confirming his win, the winner revealed how he discovered the life-changing news.

“I just went down to the paper shop to grab the morning paper and checked my ticket,” he explained.

“I had just got in the door at home when you called, so while I already know the news – I wouldn’t mind you telling me again!

“It’s just fantastic!

“This news is such a bolt from the blue! I’m too excited to really think straight.

“I haven’t told my wife yet because she is out, so it will be a nice surprise for her when she gets home!”

When asked how the overjoyed winner plans to enjoy his new millionaire status, he revealed the first thing he would do to celebrate is upgrade his holiday plans.

“We are actually heading off on holiday in a few days,” he explained.

“This will allow us to treat ourselves with a bit of extra spending money and upgrade to First Class both ways!

“I was worrying because the dollar isn’t doing too well at the moment but now I don’t have to worry about that.

“We’ve also got kids and grandkids so we’ll do something to help them out.

“Our current car is only just about still going so we might upgrade that too.

“But first, we’ll enjoy our holiday and spend the time having some long talks about what we are going to do with it!”

The happy man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his System 8 QuickPick entry at Cignall Batemans Bay, Shop G39 Village Centre, 1 Perry St, Batemans Bay.

Cignall Batemans Bay team member Brian Lane said he was thrilled that his outlet had sold its first division one winning entry.

“This is the first division one winning entry we’ve sold so we are very thrilled!” he exclaimed.

“We’ve been here a couple of years and have been waiting to sell a big one finally!

“We are so happy for the person who won. We wish him all the best!”
