A Preston dad is raising a glass after scoring a sensational $2 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw, all thanks to his wife, who gave him his very first lottery ticket as a birthday present.
The Melburnian held one of the five division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 4641, drawn Saturday 10 January 2026. He looks forward to a neat $2 million.
The winning man and his wife admittedly forgot about the lottery ticket sitting in his birthday card until late Sunday afternoon.
“It feels unbelievable!” he laughed.
“We’re feeling very overwhelmed but so grateful and blessed to have won this kind of money.
“My wife bought the lottery ticket for my birthday last week, and we honestly forgot about the ticket until yesterday. We said to ourselves, ‘Let’s take a look at it together!’
“I’ve never had a lottery ticket before, and I didn’t even know how to check it!
“When I went to check the lottery ticket yesterday and the winning notification came up, I seriously thought it was some sort of glitch.
“I just started to say, ‘Nup! Nup! There’s no way! That’s not right!’.
“We’ve spent the past day pinching ourselves, constantly checking to make sure it’s real. We know nothing’s certain until it’s confirmed, so we haven’t let ourselves get carried away just yet.
“But now that it’s confirmed, we would love to set up our child’s future with the prize, and take a chunk out of the mortgage.
“We haven’t told anyone about the news yet but I can’t wait to tell my sister who is Lotto obsessed.
“We’re very blessed.
“Thank you!”
His winning entry was purchased at Lucky Draw Lotto, Shop Sb093 Preston Market, Earle Street, Preston.
The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4641 on 10 January 2026 were 23, 1, 41, 8, 30 and 25, while the supplementary numbers were 32 and 37.
