Two mates from Flinders Range admit they didn’t sleep a wink last night after discovering they won $200,000 in yesterday’s Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw.
The South Australian locals won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1367, drawn 26 June 2019.
Confirming their win with an SA Lotteries official this morning, the private syndicate leader revealed he had been hoping they were the winners officials had been searching for in Orroroo.
“That does sound lovely,” he laughed.
“Thank you so much! That is a beautiful prize.
“Yesterday afternoon I got a phone call from my wife because she’d heard someone in the region had won.
“So I went and checked the ticket. I could not believe it was me. I had to sit down and catch my breath!”
The winner shared he and his mate had been playing lottery together for years.
“We’ve been buying Lucky Lotteries tickets from day one so we will be splitting the prize in half,” he said.
“We’re both so excited! We will probably just be paying off a few bills and put the rest of it away.
“It will certainly give us a bit of freedom!”
The pair, who wish to remain anonymous, purchased their winning entry of one random number at IGA Orroroo, 18 Second Street, Orroroo.
IGA Orroroo manager Michelle Kuerschner said the win was great news for the community.
“For a district in drought it’s great to have some good news and something positive happen in town,” she said.
“It’s all very exciting to have another big win here in Orroroo. Last year we sold a $20 million Oz Lotto winning entry, it was incredible!
“We hope our latest winners really enjoy their prize!”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $77.08 million for draw 1368 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $1.93 million for draw 10296.
