A Forest Lake woman has had a lunch break she’ll never forget, scratching a $150,000 winning ticket as she was surrounded by her colleagues in the work lunch room.

The top prize winning $10 Jumbo Crossword was purchased at Nextra Forest Lake News, Shop 23-24 Forest Lake Village Shopping Centre, Forest Lake Boulevard, Forest Lake.

Confirming her win with an official from the Lott this morning, the Brisbane resident said the unbelievable news was still sinking in.

“It’s very exciting!” she laughed.

“I was on my lunch break at work surrounded by my colleagues when I scratched it.

“They were all gathered around me in suspense.

“We thought I’d won $15,000 and we were thrilled about that.

“But then we realised I had missed one of the letters, which won me a $150,000 prize.

“It was a big a shock, a very big shock.

“I couldn’t comprehend it. I was shaking. It still hasn’t sunk in!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy a spare $150,000, the Brisbane woman had already made up her mind.

“To begin with I’m going to pay off my car,” she said.

“Then I will use the rest of my prize to put a deposit down on a house.

“And I will hopefully be able to help out some family members as well.

“It’s all very exciting!”

Nextra Forest Lake News team member Emma Jesberg said it was great to see one of their customers take home a life-changing prize.

“It’s very exciting!” she exclaimed.

“This is great news for not just our customer but also for the entire community.

“We’ve sold quite a few top prizes over the years, and it’s always exciting.

“Congratulations to her! We are sure she’s thrilled.”

Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 151 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $11.8 million in top prizes.
