A Geelong man is planning to renovate his caravan and travel all around Australia after discovering he won the First Prize in Set for Life.
The Victorian man scored the First Prize of $20,000 a month for 20 years in Set for Life draw 1611, drawn Friday 3 January 2020.
When speaking with a Tatts official this morning to confirm his prize, the Geelong man admitted he’d discovered his win on the weekend, but couldn’t believe the news.
“I found out on the weekend. I was shocked! I almost had a heart attack,” he laughed.
“I thought it must be a mistake. I have been waiting for your phone call. I didn’t want to get too excited.
“I checked my account with the Lott over and over again.
“These kinds of things just don’t happen to people like me.
“I am so glad it’s real!
“This is crazy! I am so excited.
“We had some whisky on the weekend to celebrate. We will certainly be having some more now it’s been confirmed.”
When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the stoked bloke admitted he had his eyes set on travelling Australia.
“I am going to renovate my caravan. There are a few things I have been wanting to do on it,” he explained.
“Then I will plan a few trips around Australia.
“It certainly will help my retirement as well. Happy New Year to me!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his winning 3 Set marked entry online at thelott.com – Australia’s official lotteries.
The winning numbers in Set for Life draw 1611 were 9, 30, 31, 1, 6, 24, 26 and 29, with the bonus numbers 37 and 25.
