A Gippsland woman is scouring real estate ads for the perfect block of land after scratching one of the top prizes of $100,000 on a $5 BATTLESHIP Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The winning ticket was purchased at Saviges Road Fast & Ezy, 8 Saviges Road, Moe.

There is still one top prize of $100,000 up for grabs on the $5 BATTLESHIP Instant Scratch-Its ticket, as well as thousands of dollars available to win across other prize tiers.

Sharing her excitement with an Instant Scratch-Its official today, the regular player recounted how she came to hold the winning ticket.

“I’m still in a bit of shock!” she declared.

“I scratched it last Friday when I was just sitting at home. I’d had about $30 worth of scratchies winnings and I used them to buy a few more tickets including the winning one.

“I scratched them and I saw that I had won something but I couldn’t quite work out how much.

“I gave it to my friend and he said to me ‘I think you’ve won $100,000’ and I kept saying ‘no way! That can’t be right’.

“I went down to the local outlet to check it and they told me my win was over their payment limit.

“So I high-tailed it down to the prize administration counter in Melbourne to claim my prize. When they told me I had won $100,000 that’s when I finally believed it!”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her instant windfall, the happy woman immediately shared her intentions.

“I’m going to buy a block of land and a new car!” she exclaimed.

“It’s come at a great time because it will allow me to set myself and my family up for the future.

“I’ve told a few people about my win and all of them kept telling me ‘no way, I thought those things were rigged!’ and I keep telling them ‘nope, they are real, I’ve won it!’.”

Saviges Road Fast & Ezy owner Peri Hortis said he was thrilled his outlet had sold its first major prize.

“It feels magnificent to know one of our customers scored such a big prize!” he exclaimed.

“It’s the first time we’ve sold a prize of this size so we’ve been telling everyone who has come in.

“There have been a few customers who have bought a few more scratchies hoping the luck rubs off on them too.

“We are all so excited it was a local who won too! We wish them all the best!”

In 2018, there were 155 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $14.26 million.

During this same time, there were 25,716,051 winners across all Instant Scratch-Its prize tiers in the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $205.8 million.
