A Glenelg woman can finally realise her long-held dream of owning a racehorse after scoring a division one prize of $1 million in Wednesday’s X Lotto draw.
The Bayside local held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Wednesday X Lotto draw 4037 drawn Wednesday 23 December 2020. Each entry takes home $1 million.
When an official from The Lott broke the news to the winner this morning, she couldn’t contain her giddy laughter.
“That’s fabulous news! I’m shaking!” she said through giggles of joy.
“Thank you so, so much! This is just wonderful news!
“I don’t know how to feel! I’m in shock. I had no idea I had won.
“I’ve been playing Wednesday X Lotto since I was 21 and I’ve used the same numbers since then.
“They are all my family’s birth dates. I’ve never been tempted to change them in case I stopped playing them and then they come up!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her windfall, the thrilled retiree confessed it would go a long way towards helping her realise a long-held dream.
“I’m retired, so this will certainly change my life!” she declared.
“I’ll be able to travel, and it will just take the pressure off watching how much I spend during retirement.
“I have a passion for the racing industry, and I’ve always wanted to own a share in a racehorse, so this will finally allow me to do that!”
“I was about to go out for coffee with a few girlfriends, but now we might get cake too!”
The regular player, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her 4-game marked entry at Bay Newsagency & Card Centre, 122 Jetty Road, Glenelg.
Bay Newsagency & Card Centre owner Maple Tong said a division one win in the region was the best way to end a tough year for everyone.
“Congratulations to the winner! We are truly happy for you!” she exclaimed.
“I wasn’t sure if I read it right when I got the notification we’d sold a division one winning entry.
“I’m so happy to have helped make a Christmas wish come true for one of our customers.
“This is the second division one winning entry we’ve sold, and the last was in 2016.
“We’re so thrilled for our winner. We hope she enjoys her win, and it makes her Christmas extra special!”
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 4037 on Wednesday 23 December 2020 were 16, 11, 21, 30, 15 and 19, while the supplementary numbers were 9 and 2.
Across Australia, there were three division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday X Lotto draw 4037 – on each from South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 200 so far this financial year, including 20 won by SA Lotteries customers.
Last financial year, Monday & Wednesday X Lotto created 86 millionaires across Australia.
