A Griffith couple are today struggling to comprehend their new millionaire status after discovering they won $1 million earlier this week.

The New South Wales couple held the only division one winning entry nationally in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3846, drawn Monday 25 February 2019, taking home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.

Four days after the draw NSW Lotteries finally got hold of the couple to confirm the life-changing news and despite repeating the revelation multiple times, the couple still couldn’t believe what they were hearing.

“You’re kidding me?” the man continued to question.

“Are you serious?

“This isn’t a scam or something, is it?

“I don’t know if I should believe you or not.

“I’m just speechless. I don’t know what to say.

“I’m shaking! Far out! You’ve got to be kidding me.

“It doesn’t feel real. Things like this don’t happen to us!

“I really can’t believe this news!”

After giving the couple time to let the news sink in, they still couldn’t grasp the enormity of their prize or what they planned to do with it.

“I really don’t know. I’m in disbelief. I cannot think straight so I really don’t know how we will spend the prize,” the wife said.

“We will probably spend a little bit on ourselves and keep the rest for our children so we can set them up for the future.

“We’re both ready to retire, so this will definitely help with that.

“I really don’t know what to say though.

“Perhaps now we can go on a few holidays!”

Three major prizes sold at Griffin Plaza Newsagency in 2019

The winning six game Monday & Wednesday Lotto ticket was purchased at Griffin Plaza Newsagency, Shop 6, Griffin Plaza, Corner of Yambil Street and Crossing Street, Griffith.

It’s the third major prize winning entry sold at Griffin Plaza Newsagency in 2019.

The outlet sold a winning Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot entry in January and just over a week later the team sold a division one winning Saturday Lotto ticket.

Griffin Plaza Newsagency employee Katelin Taylor said they’ve had an incredible start to 2019.

“It’s always so exciting to sell a division one winning entry, but to sell three major prize winning entries in just two months is amazing!” she exclaimed.

“We’ve been so lucky this year, we’re on an incredible winning streak, that’s for sure!

“We’ve picked up a lot of new customers because of all the wins, a lot of people are coming in to purchase tickets from us because we’ve sold so many winning ones lately!

“We wish our winners all the best!”
