A Hamilton woman is contemplating the idea of retirement years earlier than she ever thought possible after scoring more than $1.6 million in the weekend’s TattsLotto Superdraw.

The Victorian entry was one of the 12 division one winning entries across Australia in TattsLotto draw 3995, drawn Saturday 2 November 2019. Each entry won a division one prize of $1,666,666.67.

When a Tatts official contacted the winner this morning, she had no idea she’d kicked off the week a millionaire.

“Oh thank you!” she eventually managed.

“Wow. I had no idea.

“You’ve really stumped me. I have no idea what to say.

“I can’t believe this!

“I’m in shock at the moment. I’m completely stunned. This has totally thrown me.

“Thank goodness I’m not at work at the moment, there’s no way I’d be able to concentrate.

“I’ve played for so long but I never thought this would happen to me.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her life-changing windfall, the overwhelmed winner said she would be speeding up her retirement plans.

“I didn’t think I could start thinking about retirement for a while yet,” she explained.

“But this certainly means I can retire much soon than I’d thought and have the best retirement you could imagine.

“Maybe I’ll take a holiday soon, that would be nice!”

Her winning 50-game QuickPick entry was purchased at Slade’s Hamilton Newsagency & Lotto, 150 Gray Street, Hamilton.

Slade’s Hamilton Newsagency & Lotto owner Chris Slade said it was wonderful to hear he’d sold a division one winning entry.

“What exciting news to wake up to the morning after the Superdraw,” he exclaimed.

“We will certainly be letting all our customers know about this incredible news!

“Everyone dreams of winning the lottery and this proves that it can happen anywhere.

“It’s been almost five years since we last sold a division one winning entry and we’re sure our customers will be a little envious of this winner but of course very happy for them.

“Congratulations to our winner! We hope this changes her life and she really enjoys it.”
