Four days after the winning numbers were drawn, a St Albans man has stepped forward with the winning ticket to collect his $3.3 million TattsLotto division one prize.

The Melbourne man held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3945, drawn Saturday 11 May 2019. Each division one winning entry takes home a prize of $3,333,333.34.

In addition to winning division one, the man’s entry also won division three 6 times, bolstering his total prize to $3,340,539.04.

As the winning entry was unregistered, Tatts officials had no clues to the identity of the ticketholder and instead had to wait for them to check their ticket and claim their prize.

Speaking to a Tatts official this morning, the family man in his 40s admitted the past few days had been a whirlwind as he came to terms with the prize.

“I’ve known since Saturday night, but haven’t had the time to get it. We’ve been running around, getting organised. It’s been quite a crazy few days,” he said.

“We were just really surprised when we checked the ticket on Saturday.

“When I told my dad, he dropped the phone!  Luckily the phone still works!”

“We’ve been using those numbers for quite a long time. We’ll keep playing for fun – who knows?”

Now united with his prize, the St Albans man said he had begun formulating some plans about what he would do with the prize.

But he declared he would continue to work, using the prize to set his family up for the future.

“We’re going to buy our first ever house – we’re still renting,” he said.

“We’ll also get some investments to build a portfolio for the future. We want to benefit the family for many years to come.”

The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his entry at St Albans Lotto & Newsagency, 304 Main Road East, St Albans.

In 2018, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and TattsLotto created 194 millionaires across Australia.
