A Maryborough man is starting his week in style and ready to don a new Akubra hat after his afternoon ritual of having a cup of tea and enjoying an Instant Scratch-Its ticket landed him a $100,000 top-prize win.
The winning $5 Mystery Crosswords Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased from IGA Maryborough, 368 Alice Street, Maryborough.
Speaking to an official from The Lott, the Sunshine State resident shared he was over the moon with his win and knew exactly how he’d use it.
“It feels bloody wonderful!” the winning man exclaimed.
“It’s life-changing for me. I’ve got a few things in mind I’d like to do.
“Firstly, buy a new hat. A new Akubra could do me well.
“I’ll be able to travel back overseas too. Something I’ve been wanting to do for a while now.
“Then I can put the rest away. It’s just amazing to have that there in case I need it.
“I was even looking at cars. I like my car, I don’t want to buy a new one, but it feels so nice to know that if I did need to, I’d be able to.
“Same goes for anything really. I just feel like it means I don’t have to worry about something going wrong.
“When I scratched the ticket, I couldn’t believe it. I checked it again and again and again.
“It’s just a fun afternoon thing I like to do now and then – sit outside, have a cuppa, and enjoy an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
“Particularly the Crosswords ones, they’re my favourite.
“Thank you very much. I’m thrilled!”
The IGA Maryborough team were ecstatic to have sold a top prize-winning ticket and wished their customer all the best.
