A Coolangatta man is set to turbocharge his cycling game after landing a $1.5 million Saturday Gold Lotto win in the weekend’s draw.

The Gold Coast resident held one of the four division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4619, drawn Saturday 25 October 2025. He looks forward to $1,556,751.24.

“Oh wow, thank you very much!” he exclaimed.

“I normally only ever win $9.60 or $15.40 here and there, but when I saw the $1.5 million win, I just said to myself, ‘Holy moly!’. I had to make sure it was real from all angles.

“I’ll have to come claim the prize as soon as possible; it’s a momentous occasion!

“I am a bit conservative, so I might not buy a Porsche with the win, but I’ll definitely be getting a new bike. I love my cycling – provides me with exercise, mental wellness and some friends!

“I’m also recently retired so this will really bolster the future.

“I'll also make sure my family is well looked after.

“There will be a lot of good things done!”

His winning 10-game QuickPick was purchased at Coolangatta News and Lotto, Shop 2  6 Griffith Street, Coolangatta.

Coolangatta News and Lotto owner Greg Doherty said him and his team were so excited to hear they’d sold a division one winning entry worth $1.5 million.

“We’re so excited! The team will celebrate this occasion with a very well deserved celebratory dinner!” he shared.

“It’s always great selling a division one winning entry. We’ve sold six division one winning entires in the past 16 years.

“The last time we sold a division one winning entry was in 2020, so there’s no doubt this will be the start of a winning streak.

Congratulations to our division one winner on their life-changing win and thank you for supporting Coolangatta News and Lotto!”
