A Bonnyrigg man has had a workday like no other, after checking his ticket and discovering he won $100,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

The New South Wales player won the 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10407, drawn Monday 7 September 2020.

The ticket was unregistered, so officials from the Lott had no way of contacting the winner to break the news and had to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

Speaking with an official from the Lott this morning, the overjoyed man said he’d never expected to win a major prize.

“It’s great! It’s very good,” he said.

“I had no idea I won. I am actually at work, and I just decided to check my ticket quickly and that’s when I realised.

“I was shocked, but I had to keep the excitement down, which was hard.

“I am very happy.

“It will be a big help, especially during times like these.

“I always think how lucky people are to win a major prize, and now that lucky person is me.

“I can’t wait to celebrate with all of my friends and my wife.”

When asked how he planned to enjoy his prize, the thrilled man said he had a few ideas.

“My wife really wants to do some travelling, but that’s a bit hard at the moment,” he admitted.

“For now, we will just put it towards the mortgage and then when we can travel again, we will plan a few trips.”

The winning entry was purchased at Bonnyrigg Plaza Newsagent, Shop 22, Bonnyrigg Plaza Shopping Centre, 100 Bonnyrigg Avenue, Bonnyrigg.

Bonnyrigg Plaza Newsagent owner Jessie Chen said she was thrilled the winner had come forward and claimed his prize.

“We are so glad he’s discovered the news,” she said.

“What a fantastic surprise for a Wednesday!

“In times like this, I can only imagine how happy our winner is.

“We wish him all the best and hope he can do some fun things with his prize.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1.48 million for draw 1501 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $3.88 million for draw 10410.
