A Haberfield grandfather has declared he’s always been rich with happiness and now he’s also rich in a whole new way thanks to the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The New South Wales player held one of the 15 division one winning entries across Australia in Saturday Lotto draw 4157, drawn Saturday 22 May 2021. Each entry won a division one prize of $409,991.02.
Sharing his joy with an official from The Lott this morning, the Sydney retiree was still in disbelief after checking his winning entry days after the draw.
“I am rich!” he laughed.
“I’ve always been rich with character and happiness, but now I am also rich with money!
“Thank the heavens above for that. I cannot believe it.
“I checked my ticket last night, and wow. What a surprise!
“I had no idea. Thank you very much.
“It’s a beautiful gift from god.”
When asked how he thought he might enjoy his lottery fortune, the generous family man explained he’d be giving his entire prize away.
“This is for my family,” he explained.
“I am going to invest it in some real estate for my grandchildren.
“They will be very grateful in the future.”
The life-changing entry was purchased at Haberfield Newsagency, 139 Ramsay Street, Haberfield.
Haberfield Newsagency owner Joe Cavallaro said they’d been celebrating the exciting news with their customers.
“We were so happy and excited to sell this division one winning entry,” he shared.
“All our customers, of course, wish it was them.
“A big congratulations to our latest winner. We wish them all the best with their prize and we can’t wait to do it again!”
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4157 on Saturday 22 May 2021 were 23, 9, 27, 7, 13 and 6 while the supplementary numbers were 1 and 33.
Across Australia, there were 15 division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4157 – six from Victoria, three from Western Australia, two each from Tasmania and South Australia and one from Queensland.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 177 so far this calendar year, including 43 won by New South Wales customers.
In 2020, Saturday Lotto created 122 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 312 division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto across Australia, which collectively won more than $355.13 million.
