Most people can’t wait to get their hands on prize money but a Frankston retiree admits he was happy to wait 12 days to claim his TattsLotto division one windfall.

The winner was one of the nine division one winning entries nationally in TattsLotto draw 3901, drawn Saturday 8 December 2018.  Each entry took home a division one prize of $439,800.84.

The winning entry was not registered to a Tatts Card so Tatts officials had no way of contacting the winner to break the life-changing news. Instaed they had to wait for the player to come forward to claim his prize.

Speaking with a Tatts official this afternoon to confirm his win, the thrilled winner revealed he had checked his ticket at home two days after the draw.

“I was sitting at home reading the paper and thought I’d check my ticket,” he explained.

“I saw that I had all the winning numbers. I tried to tell my family that I had won division one but they didn’t believe me.

“They thought someone had died because I couldn’t get the words out I was so overwhelmed.

“I play every Saturday and have been playing for a long time!”

When asked how he planned to spend his TattsLotto windfall, the overjoyed winner revealed he had a few ideas on how to enjoy his prize.

“Oh I will do all of it! A new car, a holiday overseas and I’ll fix up the house!” he declared.

The winning entry was purchased from Foodworks Frankston South, 58 Norman Avenue, Frankston South.

Foodworks Frankston South owner Sammy Hanna said he was thrilled the winner had finally been united with their prize.

“We’ve been hoping to find them for days now but as long as someone has claimed it that’s all that matters!” he exclaimed.

“It’s fantastic they will get their prize just before Christmas too!

“We are so pleased for our winner and wish them all the best with their prize!”
