A young Maribyrnong man is marvelling at the series of random events that led him to hold a TattsLotto ticket that scored $5 million in the weekend’s draw.

The Victorian player held one of the four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4467 drawn Saturday 11 May 2024 and took home a total prize of $5 million.

The winning entry was not registered to a player card, which meant officials from The Lott had no way of contacting the ticketholder.

Speaking to an official from The Lott this morning, the man in his 20s couldn’t hide his surprise at his new multi-millionaire status.

“I’m still in shock. I can’t believe it. I’ve had no sleep at all,” he laughed.

“I’d totally forgotten about this ticket. I had bought it last week and I was at work yesterday and I realised I hadn’t checked it.

“When I got home, I scanned it. I didn’t see this coming.

“I just kept scanning it again and again. I was just in disbelief.

“This is insane! It’s crazy.

“I’m only in my 20s. I’ll keep working but I want to get married and buy our first home and set ourselves up for future family life.

“This definitely puts me ahead in life.

“This is very random. I don’t play that regularly.

“We were just at the shopping centre and just had something to eat in the food court. As we were walking out, I thought, ‘let’s get a lottery ticket for a laugh’.

“Just before we came in, there was a guy in front who purchased the same type of ticket. It’s just insane that I happened to get the winning ticket!

“I’m just trying to soak it all in. It’s life-changing.”

The winning entry was purchased at Nextra Highpoint, Shop 2084 Highpoint Shopping Centre, 200 Rosamond Road, Maribyrnong.

Nextra Highpoint owner Raj Parbhakar said he was extremely excited when he first heard his outlet had sold a division one winning entry in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

“It’s such exciting news! We immediately shared the great news with our staff, family and friends, and we’ve already started celebrating this milestone by decorating our store,” he said.

“Our customers have been congratulating us every day as they see our signage on the way in and it’s created such an exciting buzz in our store.

“The last division one winning entry we sold was in TattsLotto was in February 2020 and it was a ticket worth $1,095,232.37.

“We really hope we can find our winner soon with the hopes they scan their ticket in our outlet. We wish them good health and all the best for the future!”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4467 on 11 May 2024 were 20, 17, 21, 31, 44 and 41, while the supplementary numbers were 18 and 37.

Across Australia, there were four division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4467 – two in Victoria and one each in Queensland and Western Australia.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 362 so far in FY24, including 130 won by Tatts customers.

In 2023, TattsLotto created 176 millionaires across Australia.

During this time, there were 303 division one winning in TattsLotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $436 million.
