Thirty years after dreaming she’d one day win the lottery, a Parkes woman has experienced a string of chills down her spine after discovering she’d scored $100,000 in a recent Lucky Lotteries draw.
The Central West player held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11068, drawn Monday 13 April 2026. She looks forward to $100,000.
While repeated attempts to contact the winner went unanswered, she finally checked her winning ticket three days after the draw.
“Sorry for originally ignoring your calls. I honestly thought it was a scam at first,” she said when speaking with an official from The Lott.
“I only realised I’d won yesterday after receiving your letter in the mail.
“I couldn’t believe it. I had chills running down my body.
“I woke up this morning, and I thought it was some weird dream I must’ve had.
“Funnily enough, I had a dream about 30 years ago while I was away on vacation that I would win the lottery one day. I never imagined I’d have to wait so long. It’s too incredible!
“I’ve always only played small entries. I have a policy of only buying one ticket every month.
“I believe if I’m going to win, I’m going to win from one ticket.
“This ticket was only $2.30 and that’s all it took.”
With $100,000 soon to boost her bank account, the stunned woman had a few ideas on how she’d enjoy her prize.
“I bought a house recently and it needs a lot of work done,” she shared.
“I’ve already let my mind start dreaming of all the things I could do – new screens, fresh flooring, the works!
“I’ll also be spoiling my beautiful cat. Thank you so much.”
Her winning entry of one random number was purchased at Parkes News & Gifts, 284 Clarinda Street, Parkes.
Parkes News & Gifts manager Melissa Cowling shared she was thrilled a major lottery win had landed in her town.
“It’s just so exciting to hear someone in our small country town has been lucky enough to win a major prize,” she said.
“We’ll be celebrating in-store with ballons and streamers and spreading the winning cheer with everyone.
“It has been about 12 months since we last sold a major prize-winning ticket. Our customers will be thrilled to hear someone has won again, and hoping it could be them next.
“Congratulations to our winner! Wishing you all the happiness spending your prize and we hope it will make a huge difference in your life.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $1.48 million for draw 1783, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $2.06 million for draw 11069.
Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.
