A Normanville couple are making a list and checking it twice, but it’s not for Christmas. Instead, it’s to plan their future after scoring more than $1 million in the weekend’s Saturday X Lotto draw.
The South Australian residents held one of the six division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4601 on Saturday 23 August 2025. Each division one winning entry pocketed $1,055,540.64.
The winning pair were still taking in the enormity of their win when speaking to an official from The Lott.
“Thank you very much!” the winning wife cheered.
“It’s a little bit surreal but very exciting. I just can’t switch my brain off. I haven’t been able to sleep at all.
“When I was checking the ticket online, I thought that I’d put in the wrong number. I had to check it about three times.
“It’s funny, I’m still in the shocked stage, rather than the excited stage, but now that I’m speaking to you, I think it’s starting to sink in a bit!”
When asked how they planned to use their newfound fortune, the winners shared they were still too frazzled to make any immediate decisions.
“I have about 1000 thoughts swimming around in my head, so I’m not quite ready to make any concrete decisions,” she said.
“I’m a bit of a list person, so I’m going to start one of those and just get all my thoughts out of my head and on paper.
“It’s certainly a happy find. It’ll be absolutely life-changing for us.”
Their winning entry was purchased at Normanville Pharmacy, 85 Main Street, Normanville.
Normanville Pharmacy pharmacist and owner Emma French shared she was thrilled to hear a local had taken out a win.
“How good is it?! We’re absolutely thrilled to hear a local took home a division one win,” she said.
“It’s always amazing to hear someone won, and the whole town gets so excited.
“The last time we sold a division one winning entry would have been about 10 years ago, so we couldn’t be happier to sell another.
“Congratulations to the winning person. We’re so thrilled for you and wish you all the best with your life-changing prize.”
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4601 on 23 August 2025 were 44, 28, 10, 45, 2 and 33, while the supplementary numbers were 8 and 26.
Across Australia, there were six division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 4601 – two each in New South Wales and Western Australia, and one each in Queensland and South Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 277 so far in 2025, including 29 won by SA Lotteries customers.
In FY25, Saturday X Lotto created 165 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 341 division one winning Saturday X Lotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $420 million.
