In a twist of fate, a Glebe man joyfully declared his love for a lottery official moments after discovering he’d won $100,000 in today’s Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw.

The Sydneysider held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 11017, drawn Tuesday 1 July 2025. He looks forward to a cool $100,000.00.

The winning man had just stepped out of his office to grab a bite to eat during his lunch break when he received the exciting phone call revealing his newfound fortune.

“Oh, my godfather! That’s beautiful!” he gasped.

“Thank you very much! I just love you!

“I’m so nervous now. Wow. I just popped out of the office to grab myself something to eat for lunch and didn’t expect this.

“I can’t complain about this win. Times are hard now.

“I’ve been playing lotteries ever since it started. I never expected to win the top prize.

“What a shock to my day!”

With $100,000 about to boost his bank account, the chirpy dad shared that his first priority would be paying off any upcoming bills.

“I’ll use the prize to pay off bills. I’ll also tell my wife and my children about the exciting news; I’m sure they’ll get a couple of dollars,” he joked.

“You’re lovely! Thank you for a wonderful phone call!”

His winning entry of 10 random numbers was purchased at Glebe Point Newsagency, 335 Glebe Point Road, Glebe.

Glebe Point Newsagency owner Bijaya Lama said he felt good selling his first ever major lottery ticket since taking over the business in February earlier this year.

“It feels good, feels great even! I recently took over the business in February and have been patiently waiting to sell a major lottery ticket,” he shared.

“I know Glebe Point Newsagency did sell a 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries in 2022 and 2023, so we have a history of selling 1st prize winning entries.

“I am so glad to hear our winner is a regular player who continues to support us. We have so many regular customers who purchase the same sort of ticket week to week.

Congratulations to the winner and we wish him all the very best with his prize!”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $6.76 million for draw 1706, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $23.12 million for draw 11018.

In 2024, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $52.2 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.
