A Milton couple is bidding farewell to the 9-to-5, celebrating an early retirement and a new chapter of adventure after scoring a stunning $4.3 million win in the weekend’s Saturday Gold Lotto draw.
The Brisbane duo held one of the seven division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4593, drawn Saturday 26 July 2025. They look forward to $4,304,029.24.
Despite discovering their multi-million dollar win on the weekend, the Queenslanders were still struggling to come to terms with the enormity of their windfall.
“Haha! Jesus Christ!” one of the winning husbands revealed.
“It feels more real now that you’ve confirmed the win.
“It’s so surreal – how unbelievable!
“It’s a staggering amount of money to win. We’re trying to formulate it all. This type of s*** doesn’t happen all the time!
“I just randomly bought a System entry on Saturday. I definitely didn’t expect to win!
“We’re going to keep celebrations to a minimum; just trying to get our head around it all.”
In addition to their plans for early retirement, the cheerful Queenslander shared their goal of paying off their mortgage in full.
“We’re obviously going to pay off the house and give up work!” he revealed.
“We’re in our 50s and I think it’s time to start living our life to the fullest.”
Their winning System 9 entry was purchased via The Lott app – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.
The winning numbers in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4593 on 26 July 2025 were 17, 23, 40, 42, 44 and 2, while the supplementary numbers were 27 and 39.
