An Illawong man has taken a trip down memory lane after scoring his second major Lucky Lotteries win and looks forward to more than $200,000 hitting his bank account.

The southern Sydney man held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1678, drawn Thursday 6 June 2024. He took home a total prize of $202,014.

When officials from The Lott called to confirm the marvellous news, the winning man shared he’d previously won a Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize about 25 years ago and he’d had a feeling another win was on the cards.

“This past week I’ve had a feeling that something good was coming,” he shared.

“I didn’t think it was possible to win twice in one lifetime. I honestly thought my mind must be playing tricks on me.

“I’m still reeling in disbelief that this has actually happened again. I won a major prize in Lucky Lotteries about 25 years ago.

“It’s going to be nice to kick back a bit more and spend more time with family.”

The man’s winning entry of 10 consecutive numbers was purchased at Newsagency at Mascot, Shop 15, 42 Church Avenue, Mascot.

Newsagency at Mascot manager Alan Tran said he was thrilled to share this milestone with the major lottery winner.

“We’re really happy for our winner. When he came into store and told us we were equally in shock,” he said.

“This is our first major prize winner in Lucky Lotteries so it’s a great feeling for us too.

“We wish him all the best in the future and thank him for choosing our outlet to play at!”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $20.6 million for draw 1679, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now over $1.9 million for draw 10855.

In 2023, 117 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $20.6 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes. Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2023, more than 122.7 million wins took home more than $3.76 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Weekday Windfall, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.6 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
