While an inner-city Brisbane man and a Sydney dad have kicked off the weekend multi-millionaires, a mystery Ipswich shopper has yet to come forward and claim their $50 million-dollar prize.

There were three division one winning entries nationally in Thursday’s record-breaking $150 million Powerball draw 1218, drawn Thursday 19 September 2019 – two from Queensland and one from New South Wales. Each division one winning entry takes home and mind-blowing $50 million.

The three new division one winners join an exclusive club 11 other Australians who have won a Powerball division one prize so far this year.

As the Queensland entry was not registered to a Winners Circle card, officials have no way to contact the ticket holder and have to wait for them to come forward to break that life-changing news.

The Lott officials this morning revealed the third, currently unclaimed division one winning entry was sold at newsXpress Brassall, Shop 16 Brassall Shopping Village, Hunter Street, Brassall.

The winner may be yet to discover their new multi-millionaire status and could be walking around with a ticket worth $50 million in their pocket, wallet or at the bottom of their handbag.

Anyone who purchased an entry into Powerball draw 1218 from newsXpress Brassall is urged to check their ticket immediately.

NewsXpress Brassall owner Devinder Bassie said he was thrilled to discover his outlet had sold the division one prize.

“Oh my god! I can’t believe it!” he exclaimed.

“Everyone has been wondering where it was sold and I can’t wait to let everyone know it was us.

“I’m hoping it is a local to the area and a regular customer but we are thrilled for whoever holds that winning ticket!

“We can’t wait to unite them with their prize!”

The Lott spokesperson Bronwyn Spencer said she encouraged everyone who purchased an entry from newsXpress Brassall in Ipswich to check their ticket as they could be one of Powerball’s newest multi-millionaires.

“While we haven’t been able to confirm the news with our mystery Ipswich winner, we can guarantee that when they discover the news, their life is going to change dramatically,” she said.

“Make sure you check your entry as soon as possible because you may not have to go to work on Monday. Instead, you could start planning how you can play by your own rules and begin your life as a newly-minted multi-millionaire.

“Players can check their entry at any of our official outlets, online at thelott.com or on the Lott app.

“If you check your entry and discover you are holding the winning ticket, we recommend you keep it safe and contact 131 868 to start the process of claiming your prize!”

The Lott also reminds players of the importance of registering their tickets to a player card so all of their prizes are secure and they can be contacted directly with the good news of a big win.

SLEEPY INNER-CITY BRISBANE MAN CLAIMS $50 MILLION PRIZE

A Golden Casket official had the exciting job of confirming the life-changing news with the sleepless Queensland man yesterday morning.

“Oh thank you,” he cried with happiness.

“I am so incredibly overwhelmed.

“I checked my ticket late last night after the draw.

“I’ve been wide awake ever since. I couldn’t sleep at all. But I really didn’t want to get my hopes up.

“I can’t believe it. Are you sure it’s me? Are you positive?

“You buy a ticket into these draws but never think it is actually going to be you.

“I can’t believe it. I really can’t believe it.”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his life-changing entry at Mater News Central, Shop B, 550 Stanley Street, South Brisbane.

SYDNEY DAD WAKES UP TO NEWS OF $50 MILLION POWERBALL WIN

A Sydney dad is still trying to get his head around the news he woke up on Friday morning a multi-millionaire after scoring division one in last night’s Powerball draw.

Confirming the life-changing revelation, the dad struggled to find the words to explain how he was feeling.

“I can’t believe it,” he eventually managed.

“I am speechless.

“How would anyone feel? I don’t even think this is real at the moment.

“Are you sure you’re serious?

“My god. I just told my wife. She was getting the kids ready for school and she does not believe me!

“I only bought my ticket last minute when I was at work yesterday because everyone else was buying them!

“I thought, ‘you’ve got to be in it to win it’ so I bought one. And I am so glad I did!

“I think I might have to take the day off work to calm down and think about how I will use this prize. There’s no way I’d be able to concentrate!”

The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his entry online at OzLotteries.com.  Jumbo Interactive operates OzLotteries.com and the OzLotteries App, which sell official lottery tickets as an authorised reseller of Tabcorp. Jumbo Interactive is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX:JIN).

In addition to the three $50 million division one winners, there were 4,648,104 winners across divisions two to nine in Powerball draw 1218 who collectively took home more than $81.87 million.
