A Mackay woman has come forward as the mystery Lucky Lotteries winner who scored $100,000 in last week’s draw, after a call from a dear friend prompted her to check her winning ticket.

The North Queenslander held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10996, drawn Friday 6 June 2025. She looks forward to a tidy $100,000.

When an official from The Lott called to confirm the winning news, the stunned winner recounted the unforgettable moment she realised she was the mystery winner.

“I’m still in a little disbelief!” she gasped.

“Amazingly enough, I was sitting at home watching television when my friend called and told me there was a mystery Lucky Lotteries winner in our area.

“She asked where I usually buy my tickets and said she had a gut feeling that I might be the winner. I told her, ‘It can’t be me. No way!’.

“After her call, I thought it wouldn’t hurt to go and check my tickets.

“When I went down to my local outlet, they had the winning numbers on the counter and, lo and behold, they matched my ticket.

“We scanned the ticket to be sure, and I just went into shock.

“The outlet owner was pointing at me, jumping up and down, shouting, ‘You’re the winner! You’re the $100,000 winner!’.

“I was standing across from him in disbelief. It’s like my entire world froze for a minute.

“I couldn’t fall asleep that night because I was still in shock.”

With $100,000 set to boost her bank account, the cheery woman shared the prize would give her the freedom to tick off overdue home maintenance.

“The prize is going to be so helpful and give me the freedom to tick things off my to-do list,” she explained.

“There’s lots of house maintenance to do. I need a new kitchen and a fresh coat of paint around the place.

“It’s slowly starting to feel real now.”

The winning entry was purchased at Nightowl Slade Point, Shop 1, 5 Finch Street, Slade Point.

Nightowl Slade Point manager Anoop Kumar shared he was thrilled to hear his outlet had sold a 1st prize winning ticket worth $100,000.

“We were all so happy to hear the news that we had sold a 1st Prize winning entry and helped change a customer’s life,” he said.

“Our local customers are over the moon to hear we’ve sold a major lottery prize.

“This marks our fifth biggest winning ticket here at Nightowl Slade Point within the last five years.

“The last time we sold a major prize-winning entry was back in September 2024, so it feels like we were due for a big win.

“Congratulations to our winner! We hope you enjoy your prize and spend wisely.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $6.28 million for draw 1704, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $20.39 million for draw 10997.

In 2024, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $52.2 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2024, more than 195.3 million winners took home more than $4.84 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Gold Lotto, Weekday Windfall, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.8 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
