After five years of pooling their luck and dreams, a group of Casey mates are celebrating a sweet $100,000 win in a recent Lucky Lotteries draw.

The Canberra residents held the 1st Prize winning entry in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10949, drawn Tuesday 25 March 2025.

When an official from The Lott reached out to confirm their prize, the leader of the group relived the thrilling moment he discovered the win, sharing that he was so surprised he nearly collapsed.

“It still hasn’t sunk in! It was a big surprise!” the thrilled group leader exclaimed.

“I checked my ticket earlier this morning, and I felt like I was going to collapse.

“I rushed over to my local newsagent and got them to check I wasn’t going crazy.

“I’ll be sharing the prize with a couple of my mates. For the past five years, we’ve had a ritual where we take it in turns buying a ticket each week.

“I’m looking forward to sharing the news with them and letting them know we’re all richer now.

“I don’t think they’ll believe me at first. I’m thinking I’ll get them over to show them the ticket in real life.

“It’s a great feeling to have a bit of extra money sitting there.

“It will unlock a world of possibilities for my family.”

Their winning entry was purchased at Cignall Casey, Shop 16, Casey Market Town, 15 Kingsland Parade, Casey.

Cignall Casey store supervisor Kristy McDiarmid shared she was ecstatic to hear her outlet had sold a 1st Prize winning ticket worth $100,000.

“We were all really surprised and excited to hear we’d sold a 1st Prize winning ticket worth $100,000,” she said.

“It’s been a while since we sold a major prize-winning ticket, so it’s great to see a big win land in our community.

“A big congratulations to our lucky winner from everyone at Cignall Casey.”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $5.08 million for draw 1699, while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot prize is now $14.28 million for draw 10950.

In 2024, 147 Lucky Lotteries 1st Prize and Jackpot winning entries across Australia won more than $52.2 million.

Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot and Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot are raffle-style games, which means there is a set number of tickets in each draw. As each ticket number is unique there is no sharing of prizes.

Each game has two draws – one that determines the winning numbers and one that determines the jackpot number. If the jackpot number matches one of the winning numbers, then the Jackpot Prize is won. If the jackpot number does not match one of the winning numbers, the Jackpot Prize will climb for the next draw.

Tickets can be purchased at any licenced lottery outlet, online from thelott.com or via The Lott mobile app.

The official home of Australia’s lotteries, The Lott operates and markets Australia’s leading lottery games customers know and love creating everyday winners, winning every day.

In 2024, more than 195.3 million winners took home more than $4.84 billion in prize money from their favourite games at The Lott, including Saturday Lotto, Weekday Windfall, Powerball, Oz Lotto, Set for Life, Lucky Lotteries, Keno (SA), Super 66, Lotto Strike and Instant Scratch-Its.

Last financial year, Australia’s official lotteries contributed more than $1.8 billion via state lottery taxes and donations to help community initiatives, such as hospitals, health research, disaster relief and education.
