A Gladstone mum has wasted no time deciding how she’ll enjoy her “life-changing” $200,000 Instant Scratch-Its prize, revealing an unforgettable family holiday is on the horizon.
The top prize winning $15 Crosswords Book was purchased at Alive Pharmacy Calliope, Shop 17, Calliope Shopping Centre, Calliope.
Sharing her excitement with a Golden Casket official this morning, the woman relived the moment she discovered her instant windfall.
“I’m so stoked,” she laughed.
“I started scratching the ticket and realised I had nine words and thought I must have won about $500.
“But then I kept scratching and kept getting word after word after word.
“Then I called my daughter and told her that I thought I’d won $200,000.
“She came over to check the ticket and we re-checked it again and again.
“We couldn’t believe it. Oh my god. It was amazing!”
The happy winner explained it didn’t take long for her to think of plenty of ways she could enjoy her prize.
“I’m going to help my children and we will definitely be celebrating by going on an overseas holiday!” she declared.
“I’ll also buy my husband a new car. I’m so happy.
“It’s not every day you win $200,000. It’s life-changing!”
Alive Pharmacy Calliope store manager Claire Stone said she was over the moon to learn her outlet had sold its first major prize.
“We’ve only been open since April this year and we’ve already sold a division two winning entry in Lotto and now a major prize! We are totally on a hot streak!” she exclaimed.
“It was a cracker when the customer came into the store to claim their prize. It was just a huge lift for the store straight away. With us being so new and having it happen so quickly we were all so thrilled.
“It’s fantastic it has gone to a local customer and a regular to our store. We are such a small community so we are so happy it’s gone to someone who supports us too.
“Congratulations to our winner! We wish them all the best with their prize!”
Between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2019, there were 118 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $12.14 million in top prizes.
