A Wollongong man is eagerly counting down the days until he can escape to the sun-soaked shores of Fiji and also pay off his house mortgage after landing $1 million in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
The Illawarra resident held one of the two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4368, drawn Wednesday 21 February 2024.
The New South Welshman discovered that winning a major prize can come with a few side effects, revealing the hairs on the back of his neck immediately stood up.
“Oh my god! Oh, you’re joking!” he exclaimed.
“It’s not a bogus call, is it? I couldn’t handle that!
“I’ve started to jump up and down! I can’t believe it.
“I know everyone says it, but this is life-changing!
“I’ll be able to get rid of my mortgage and go on a holiday – all the things you dream of!
“I’ve wanted to go back to Fiji. I really love it there.
“I had no idea that I’d won $1 million – wow!
“Thank you so much.”
His winning marked 12-game entry was purchased at Aussie Pharmacy, Shop 1 7/204 Princes Highway, Corrimal.
Aussie Pharmacy owner Patrick Saklawy said his entire team was shocked to have sold their first division one winning entry after only opening their doors to customers a few weeks ago.
“It was pure excitement, especially as we have only been trading as a lottery outlet since Monday 5 February 2024! This is definitely going to help grow our small business,” he said.
“Many phone calls have already been made between staff members. I think the boss should shout us a lunch out!
“It goes to show that a division one lottery win can happen anywhere, even at a small pharmacy in Corrimal.
“Congratulations to the winning man! We hope they enjoy their winning moment and continue to support our small business.”
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 4367 on Wednesday 21 February 2024 were 26, 34, 12, 6, 24 and 13, while the supplementary numbers were 32 and 33.
