A young Downer man and a St Albans player have officially become Australia’s newest multi-millionaires after they each scored $15 million in last night’s Oz Lotto draw.

The pair held the only division one winning entries in last night’s Oz Lotto draw, draw 1451, drawn Tuesday 7 December 2021.

Both are due to receive their $15 million prizes on Wednesday 22 December, setting the scene for merry Christmas and New Year.

Downer man receives $15 million Oz Lotto winning call

A young Downer man received the greatest phone call of his life this morning as lottery officials confirmed he won more than $15 million in last night’s Oz Lotto draw.

There have been six division one wins in the ACT so far in 2021 worth more than $54.2 million.

“This is too much money to comprehend,” he exclaimed when an official from The Lott contacted him this morning to confirm his prize.

“I’ve always thought a $1 million prize would be the number. I never thought of something this big!

“I had a quick look at my ticket last night before bed. I actually slept quite well. It was the last thing I saw before bed, and I don’t think it registered properly.

“I always pick the numbers – a couple of birthdays, and then I just pick the rest randomly.

“This is the greatest phone call of my life!”

Despite becoming an overnight multi-millionaire, the stunned man admitted he still turned up to work today but had begun formulating some plans.

“With everything that’s happened during the past two years, being in the same place and doing the same things, now’s the time to think about things, and I’ve certainly got a few more options now,” he said.

“I’m at that point where I’m thinking I’ll be working for the next 30 or more years, but now that’s probably not going to happen. There will be more time off work, longer holidays and paying off the mortgage.

“This Christmas should be fun!”

The winner purchased his life-changing marked System 8 entry online at thelott.com – the official home of Australia’s lotteries.

St Albans player heading into 2022 as an Oz Lotto multi-millionaire

A St Albans Oz Lotto player can look forward to walking into 2022 as a multi-millionaire after scoring $15 million in last night’s Oz Lotto draw.

However, how they plan to spend their windfall will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to stay completely anonymous and celebrate in private.

There have been 13 division one wins in western Melbourne so far this year worth more than $25.9 million

The winning entry was purchased from Winning Lotteries St Albans, 59 Alfrieda Street, St Albans.

Winning Lotteries St Albans owner Tay Seang said she was delighted to have made one of her customers an overnight multi-millionaire.

“When I heard the news, I was so excited for our winner! What a great time to win with Christmas just around the corner,” she shared.

“We will be celebrating this news with a couple of drinks and sharing this exciting news with our customers.

“Our winner will be thrilled, and our customers will be hoping they are the one to win big next.

“We have sold many division one prizes over the years. In total, I have had over 10 division one wins here since taking over the store seven years ago.

“Our entire team would love to send our congratulations to our winner.

“It is a fantastic feeling selling a division one winning ticket. We are all very happy with this result and can’t wait for the next one.”

The Lott spokesperson Ally Ramsamy said she was sure the winner was delighted by their multi-million-dollar win.

“While we may never know how they plan to enjoy their prize, we have no doubt they are walking around today grinning from ear to ear after discovering their win,” she said.

“Other winners tell us they use their windfall to help their families, buy a new house, upgrade their home with renovations or splurge a new car.

“However our winner chooses to use their prize, we hope they enjoy the winning feeling as long as they can.”

The winning numbers in Oz Lotto draw 1451 on Tuesday 7 December 2021 were 28, 12, 17, 40, 36, 22 and 33, while the supplementary numbers were 24 and 45.

Across Australia, there were two division one winning entries in Oz Lotto draw 1451 – one from the ACT and one from Victoria.

The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 202 so far this financial year, including 69 won by NSW Lotteries customers.

In the 12 months to 30 June 2021, 23 division one winning Oz Lotto entries across Australia collectively won more than $283.12 million.

During this time, the biggest Oz Lotto jackpot was $50 million, which was won by a North Sydney woman in July 2020.

Of the 23 Oz Lotto division one winning entries in FY21, seven landed in both Victoria and Western Australia, five in New South Wales, two in Queensland, and one each in South Australia and the Northern Territory.
