A Keysborough shopper has struck gold after scratching one of the top prizes of $10,000 on a $1 Treasure Chest Instant Scratch-Its ticket.
But who the winner is, and how they will spend their $10,000 loot, will forever remain a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
The winning Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Keysborough Lucky Lotto, Kiosk 1, 211-215 Chapel Road, Keysborough.
Owner of Keysborough Lucky Lotto Wendy Nguyen recounted the moment the shopper discovered their win in store.
“The winner came in and bought some Instant Scratch-Its and scratched them right in the store,” she explained.
“They won $3 on one of them and said to me ‘What do I do now Wendy?’ so I gave them three of the same ticket they had just scratched and they won on the second one.
“They said ‘Wendy! Wendy! Can you count these zeros for me?’ so I counted one, two, three, four zeros!
“I told them ‘Oh my god! You’ve won!’ – It was so exciting! We are so happy for our customer!
“We wish them all the best – they hasn’t been in again since so I hope they are off on a holiday or doing something fun!”
In 2018, there were 155 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $14.26 million.
