A Kilkenny woman has received the shock of her life after checking her X Lotto ticket while out running errands and discovering she’s the mystery $1.5 million winner The Lott officials have been searching for over the past fortnight.
The thrilled winner held one of the 19 division one winning entries nationally in Saturday X Lotto draw 4117, drawn Saturday 2 January 2020. Each entry takes home a division one prize worth $1,578,947.37.
Sharing her disbelief with an official from The Lott this morning, the winner recounted the moment she discovered her win.
“Oh my god! Thank you! Thank you!” she exclaimed.
“I was just out shopping and was planning on getting a massage, but all the massage places were full.
“I thought I would check my lottery ticket while I waited.
“I scanned it at the kiosk, and it came up that I had won something, but it didn’t tell me how much. So I left it while I went and did other things around the shops.
“It wasn’t until I came back later to check it again that the lady behind the counter told me I had won division one.
“I’m still in shock! I don’t believe it!
“I don’t buy lottery tickets that often and only decided to play because of the big Megadraw.
“I bought two tickets, and the first one won nothing but the second won everything!
When asked how she planned to enjoy life as a newly-minted millionaire, the overjoyed woman revealed she was confident she’d find plenty of ways to enjoy it in the coming months and years.
“I don’t know how I will spend it yet!” she declared.
“I’m still absorbing it all. It doesn’t feel real!”
The winner, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning entry at Lotteries Kiosk Arndale, Kiosk 3, Central Mall Centro Arndale, Torrens Road, Kilkenny.
The winning numbers in Saturday X Lotto draw 4117 on 2 January 2021 were 7, 5, 16, 44, 14 and 17, while the supplementary numbers were 26 and 31.
Across Australia, there were 19 division one winning entries in Saturday X Lotto draw 4117 – six in Victoria, four in New South Wales, three each in South Australia and Western Australia, two in Queensland and one in Tasmania.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 239 so far this financial year, including 24 won by SA Lotteries customers.
In 2020, Saturday X Lotto created 122 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 312 division one winning in Saturday X Lotto entries across Australia, which collectively won more than $355.13 million.
