A man from Kings Cross is ready to dig out his passport and head on an overseas odyssey as part of his celebrations for scoring the million-dollar division one prize in last night’s Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw.
The happy Sydney resident in his 50s held one of the two division one winning entries across Australia in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3793 on Wednesday 23 August 2018. Each entry takes home the guaranteed division one prize of $1 million.
Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official this morning, the thrilled man explained he didn’t sleep a wink last night after checking his ticket immediately after the draw.
“Oh wow! I don’t know what to say!” he exclaimed.
“I found out last night. I couldn’t sleep all night to be honest with you. I was so excited.
“Are you sure you’re not pulling my leg?
“This is great!”
While the regular player will use some of his million-dollar win to pay off his mortgage, he also has other plans.
“I’m due for a holiday. I’ve been working too hard,” he said.
“I want to go back to Paris and Switzerland. But anywhere is good, as long as it’s a holiday!
“I can tell my boss if he gives me a hard time today I might walk out – only kidding!”
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased his marked System 7 entry at Fountain Newsagency, Shop 10, 23-31 Darlinghurst Road, Kings Cross.
So far this calendar year, Monday & Wednesday Lotto and Saturday Lotto have created 118 millionaires across Australia.
The winning numbers in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3793 on Wednesday 22 August 2018 were 2, 44, 39, 34, 5 and 41, while the supplementary numbers were 12 and 8.
Across Australia there were two division one winning entries in Monday & Wednesday Lotto draw 3793 – one each from New South Wales and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 261 so far this calendar year, including 69 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
