A Kingston couple has declared their day has been made after discovering their Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot entry scored them a 1st Prize worth $100,000.

The Tasmanian duo won the 1st Prize of $100,000 in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10422, drawn Friday 30 October 2020.

The ticket was unregistered, so officials from The Lott had no way of contacting the winners to break the news and had to wait for them to come forward to claim their prize.

Sharing his excitement with an official from The Lott, the happy husband revealed the pair had spent the weekend oblivious to their win.

“You’ve made our day! Thank you!” he exclaimed.

“My wife and I buy tickets every now and then, so we had completely forgotten to check it.

“It wasn’t until today that my wife thought to scan it and see if we had won anything.

“I was just sitting in my study working from home due to COVID, and she came running in saying ‘I think we might have won something’.

“So I checked it too, and I couldn’t believe it. I rang you guys straight away just to make sure it is true.

“Now you’ve confirmed it, I believe you.

“But I’m in a state of shock. I think it’s still sinking in!”

When asked how they planned to enjoy their Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot windfall, the thrilled winner confessed he had a good idea of how it would be spent.

“My wife has always wanted to renovate our house, so I don’t think I can get out of that now,” he laughed.

“We’ll use it towards the renovations and then we’ll see what else we can do with it when it sinks in.

“We haven’t even celebrated yet as we are still getting our heads around it.”

The winning entry was purchased at Kingston Town Lotto, Shop 22 Kingston Town Shopping Centre, 93 - 99 Maranoa Road, Kingston.

Kingston Town Lotto manager Michelle Davey said the outlet was thrilled one of their customers had scored such an exciting prize.

“How wonderful! We are so excited!” she said.

“What an incredible win right before Christmas. Hopefully this makes for a great end to the year and they can spend Christmas with their loved ones.

“We wish them all the best with their prize and hope they truly enjoy it.

“We’ve sold a few major prizes in the past and we are always so excited to hear we’ve sold another.

“Hopefully we sell some more major prizes soon.

“It’s great news for the community. All of our customers will be so excited when they hear!”

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $2.68 million for draw 1506 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $1.28 million for draw 10423.
