After playing the same set of lottery numbers since she was 21 years old, a Launceston woman can finally celebrate a major lottery victory after scoring $600,000 in the weekend’s TattsLotto draw.

The Northern Tasmanian resident held one of the nine division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4247, drawn Saturday 2 April 2022 and takes home $606,096.94.

This morning, an official from The Lott reached out to the delighted Apple Isle resident, who was still reeling from the winning news.

“Oh my god! I can’t believe it. I keep thinking, ‘is this real?’,” she giggled.

“I’ve been playing the same set of numbers since I was 21 years old. I’m now middle-aged, and I can’t believe these numbers have eventually come around to score big.

“All the numbers are birth dates of family and friends. It’s amazing that I chose these numbers 30 odd years ago.

“I found out on Sunday morning when I manually checked the results. I was surrounded by my family, and we singled out every lottery number, one by one.

“I finished reading all the lottery numbers and that’s when we discovered we’d won division one! We kept looking at each other in disbelief.

“I kept wondering if I was in a dream, a scam, or some joke. It felt so surreal.”

When asked how she planned to enjoy her anticipated good fortune, the generous mother said she would spoil her kids in many different ways.

“I’ll definitely share the love and give some money to my children, maybe treat them to a holiday,” she shared.

“This will help us pay off some bills as well. We’re so happy.”

Her winning marked 4-game entry was purchased at Monaghan’s Lucky Agency, 68 St John Street, Launceston.

Monaghan’s Lucky Agency owners Kevin and Sharon Wade said they hoped the division one winning entry would bring happiness to the winner and the local community.

“Our community will be very happy to discover a local has taken home $600,000. It’s the third win to come to the area in recent times, and they say good things come in threes,” Kevin said.

“This is the third division one winning entry we’ve sold over 12 years. The last one was four years ago, so we hope this is the start of a winning year.

“Congratulations to the winner! Dreams truly do come true, and you’ve proved that it’s possible to win even on a small ticket!”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4247 on 4 April 2022 were 6, 27, 21, 1, 15, 4, while the supplementary numbers were 41 and 19.

Across Australia, there were nine division one winning entries in TattsLotto draw 4247 – four in New South Wales, two in Queensland and one each in Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia.
