A Leichhardt man has confessed his and his wife’s emotions took over and the tears rolled down their faces after discovering he’d won $1.5 million in the weekend’s Saturday Lotto draw.
The Sydney winner held one of the 13 division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4307, drawn 29 October 2022. Each entry scored $1,538,461.54.
“It’s unbelievable! We scanned our ticket together and when we realised what had happened, our emotions just spilled over,” he told an official from The Lott when confirming his windfall.
“You always hope that one day it might be you, but you never expect it to happen.
“We cried so much! It was just tears and laughter.
“I’ve never won anything before but this is going to change our lives.
“It’s going to set us up for retirement. It’s going to allow us to help out our family and it’s definitely sending us on a big holiday.
“It’s just amazing to know we’re secure moving forward.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
His winning entry was purchased online at Nextra Norton Plaza, Shop 24 Norton Plaza, 55 Norton Street, Leichhardt.
The Nextra Norton Plaza team said they were over the moon to have sold a division one winning entry and wished their winner all the best for the future.
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 4307 on 29 October 2022 were 7, 9, 42, 6, 22 and 3, while the supplementary numbers were 16 and 13.
Across Australia, there were 13 division one winning entries in Saturday Lotto draw 4307 – six in Queensland, three in Victoria, two in New South Wales and one each in Tasmania and Western Australia.
The Lott’s division one winning tally has now reached 370 so far this calendar year, including 99 won by NSW Lotteries customers.
In FY22, Saturday Lotto created 196 millionaires across Australia.
During this time, there were 324 division one winning in Saturday Lotto entries across Australia that collectively won more than $461.69 million.
