A Leppington man who admits he’s been a long-time lover of Instant Scratch-Its tickets is today rejoicing after finally “cracking the big one” and walking away with a $50,000 win.
The top prize winning $4 Butterfly Bingo Instant Scratch-Its ticket was purchased at Leppington Newsagency, Shop 6, 1469 Camden Valley Way, Leppington.
Speaking with an official from The Lott this afternoon, the Sydney man admitted he’s so used to only winning small prizes that he struggled to comprehend his $50,000 win.
“I love Instant Scratch-Its tickets! I probably buy a few each week,” he revealed.
“I’ve won a few hundred dollars before, but nothing like this. So, you can imagine my shock when I realised I’d won the top prize!
“At first, I thought I must have read the instructions wrong or scratched the wrong number on the ticket. I couldn’t believe it!
“I probably checked it about ten times before going to The Lott head office to claim the prize. I didn’t want to get my hopes up if I was wrong.
“But I’m happy to report that I did win – obviously. I’ve cracked the big one!
“Unfortunately, I can’t do too much celebrating. I have to work tonight. But I’m sure I’ll have a few beers this weekend.
“I’m going to use this prize for a house deposit. So, it’s certainly coming in handy!”
The Leppington Newsagency team are thrilled for their winner and wish him all the best with his prize.
In 2021, there were 157 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across The Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $10 million in top prizes.
