People dream about winning a top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket once in their lifetime, but a Townsville woman has struck gold for the second time, scoring $10,000 on a $1 ticket.
The winning ticket was purchased at Vincent Village Newsagency, Shop 2, Vincent Village Shopping Centre, Vincent.
Sharing her joy with an official from the Lott this morning, the North Queenslander explained that this wasn’t the first time she’d scored a major prize.
“Thank you!” she exclaimed.
“You won’t believe it, only two years ago I won $25,000 on a $2 ticket!
“I can’t quite believe my luck. I purchased it from the same newsagency as well. It’s amazing!
“The other day I had a few coins and I thought I’d grab a couple of tickets, I went home to scratch them and there it was, $10,000!
“It’s very exciting!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her latest instant windfall, the retired woman said she had a few things in mind.
“I’m going to pay some bills and get on top of things,” she said.
“Then the rest I will put away in the bank for a rainy day.
“It’s so very welcomed. It will be lovely to see it in my bank account!”
Between 1 July 2019 and 30 June 2020, there were 151 Instant Scratch-Its top prize winners across the Lott’s jurisdictions who collectively took home more than $11.8 million in top prizes.
During this same time, Instant Scratch-Its players enjoyed more than 29.1 million wins across all prize tiers worth more than $235.25 million. This equates to more than half a million dollars won on Instant Scratch-Its every day.
