A Liverpool player has finally discovered their good fortune and come forward to claim their Lucky Lotteries prize two weeks after winning $200,000 in a Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw earlier this month.
The Western Sydney player won the guaranteed 1st Prize of $200,000 in Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot draw 1241, drawn Wednesday 6 March 2019.
However, how the 1st Prize winner plans to spend their unexpected windfall will forever be a mystery as they have chosen to remain completely anonymous and celebrate in private.
NSW Lotteries spokesperson Lauren Cooney said while we might never know how the Liverpool player planned to spend their prize or why it took them two weeks to discover their good fortune, we were sure the win brought a smile to their face.
“What an incredible surprise to discover you’ve had a $200,000 winning ticket in your hand for a couple of weeks!” she exclaimed.
“No doubt our winner’s plans for the year will change when their bank account balloons by $200,000!
“Other Lucky Lotteries winners tell us their 1st Prize gives them the freedom to spoil their families, go on overseas holidays, pay off their mortgages or splurge on something they’ve been dreaming of.
“However our winner chooses to enjoy their windfall we are sure they’ll enjoy every minute of it!
“It’s a great reminder to players to register their entries because if this ticket had been registered they could had been enjoying their win for weeks.”
The winning entry was purchased at Nextra Liverpool, Shop 1079 – 1081 Westfield Liverpool, 119 George Street, Liverpool.
Nextra Liverpool owner Kaliappa Reddy said he was relieved to know his customer had finally claimed their prize.
“For the last two weeks we’ve been asking all of our customers if they have any Lucky Lotteries tickets that need to be checked,” he laughed.
“All the staff have been so excited scanning tickets, hoping they’ll have great news to share.
“We’re so glad the winner has claimed their prize and wish them all the best.”
The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot prize is now $49.48 million for draw 1253 while the Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot is now $4.14 million for draw 10278.
